Intergovernmental Affairs & civic Engagement

Under direction of the County Administrator, IACE ensures the County’s legislative interests are represented at the State, federal and local levels through education and active engagement of County legislative staff, members of the Alameda County legislative delegation, affiliate organizations and other community stakeholders; development of the two-year legislative platform and tracking of legislative activity; coordination of the County’s media activities; and development and implementation of programs that educate and engage the public to raise awareness of county programs and services.

Cable Franchise Authority

Under direction of the County Administrator, staff is responsible for managing the County’s cable agreements with local cable providers and monitoring their operations in unincorporated Alameda County to ensure compliance with provisions of the agreements and compliance with State and federal requirements. In some instances, this office may act to facilitate unresolved consumer problems or complaints with local cable providers.
